Love is a Gift | Music Video by tion

This is my entry for the summer 2024 Indie Film Music Contest.

They give you a finished video but with no music and in this case, no sound design until the last 3rd of the film, so apart from the Mum's voice toward the end (which is part of the film), all of the sound is mine.

They do not judge on mixing, production or any technical aspect of the final recording; only the actual composition and writing to picture aspects, so I'd love to hear if you have any suggestions to improve on what I have already done; I'm still learning and always trying to improve.

I think that both Phil Beastall and the actor have done a lovely job of this short film and I found it very easy to immerse myself whilst writing the score.

I've deliberately made it very minimalistic to try to reflect the emptiness that he seems to be feeling.
