At fourteen Lily Metcalf was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes. As an aspiring footballer, this knocked Lily’s confidence, she was embarrassed by her diagnosis and believed she wasn’t good enough. Two years later, Lily wants to inspire others with diabetes through Dan's Trust and&nbsp;Diabetes UK. Understanding it is not a big setback, and that you can continue to achieve your dreams regardless of your diagnosis. Now signing contracts with football clubs, Lily at the age of sixteen has understood the importance of a forward and positive mindset, and if you put your mind to anything, diabetes won’t stop you from doing what you want to do. You control diabetes, diabetes doesn’t control you... now think, that relates to all aspects of life.
