You have 30 days to start watching and 48 hours to finish.

Please note the station is now on private land known as Wykes Brothers farm and Brickhill House owned by Mr Brian Wykes and his wife and they do not like people just turning up you need to book by email or phone to be able to get onto there land they do call the police if you just turn up.

unholme Lodge opened in May 1943 under 5 Group and closed in 1964. Very little is extant today but some traces still remain.

The wall to the left of the memorial records the names of eleven crews who failed to return.

Access to this memorial, which is on private land, was kindly granted by the current owner of Dunholme Lodge.

Station History

It is easy to drive across the former Dunholme Lodge and indeed, along one of its runways, without realising you are on what was a large WWII bomber airfield. Construction of a standard Class 'A' airfield commenced in September 1942 on land just west of Welton, although fields at the site had been used during 1941 to disperse Hampdens from nearby Scampton. Dunholme Lodge had the standard three runway configuration although one of the subsidiaries was longer than normal at 1700 yards.
