South African rapper and songwriter TRP ("The Rap Prodigy") emerged as a teenage force few had encountered on the music scene in the mid-2010s. His prodigious talent mesmerising audiences across the Cape Town hip hop landscape, despite being under the legal age for the venues he was shutting down. Co-signs from some of the city's hottest MCs would soon follow.&nbsp;As of 2023, TRP had a list of accomplishments that includes&nbsp;three&nbsp;No. 1 records on national radio (5FM &amp; Metro FM), as well as regular music video rotation on Channel O and MTV Base. His latest single, “Chapman’s Peak Drive”, reached No.1 on the 5FM 5 Nights Hip Hop Chart in October 2023.&nbsp;Drawing inspiration from a range of musical and cultural influences - Jay Z, AKA, football culture and the WWE, to name a few - TRP has crafted a "unique sonic blend of modern alternative and classic rap" (Vending Machine, 2023), delivered with lyrical precision that only a true craftsman of hip hop can execute.
