Hamish Stuart, they said of him in Average White Band, is a white man with the voice of a black man; he also wrote and co-wrote most of the material. He went on to write for Atlantic Star and play with and write for Chaka Khan and play and record with Paul McCartney and Aretha Franklin, George Benson and more. For the last 18 years he has been part of Ringo Starr's All Star Band among other things.
